Dr Meaghan O’Brien

Veterinarian – BVSc (Honours) MANZCVS (Small Animal Medicine)

I have been part of the Glen Iris and Armadale Veterinary Hospitals for 10 years, and I love getting to know our wonderful clients and pets.

I have been working as a small animal veterinarian since graduating with Honours from the University of Melbourne in 2010. I have a special interest in medicine, clinical pathology and soft tissue surgery. I enjoy keeping up to date with the latest veterinary advancements and have completed additional studies in minimally invasive procedures including endoscopy and laparoscopy (keyhole surgery) through the University of Tennessee, and Small Animal Dentistry through the University of Illinois.

In 2016 I successfully completed additional exams to obtain membership to the Australian and New Zealand College of Veterinary Scientists in the Medicine Chapter, and am currently working toward the UK Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons: Certificate of Advanced Veterinary Practitioner, with a post graduate certificate of Veterinary Professional Studies.

I always knew I wanted to become a veterinarian, and I really enjoy working with people to achieve the best health for their beloved companions.

Family life with my husband and two young children keep me very busy, and I have been lucky enough to complete several of my bucket list items including seeing the Northern Lights in Norway, and watching the baby turtles hatching in the wild in Queensland.
